So how good is XJ V

I don't think I'll ever have the drive to play through III to V just for the story, especially with III and IV being made by new developers and have tangentially anything to do with the original. But since V was said to be the return of Yao being the showrunner and the true sequel to the original tw...

Re: [Scene] Yue Ru's death

And also the part where Sword Saint says "one person must be sacrificed" I took it as just him bluffing and trying to push Ling Er into whatever that he wanted her to do. He made it sound like there was some kind of mechanism inside the tower like this one point in XianJian 2 game where ou...

Re: Game vs Drama: Which you like?

This is the case of "less is more" or "less is better". Because in game XiaoYao barely talks, you only move him around opening chests and interact with stuff, when you "talk" with an NPC it's them who do the talking, and if it's an important NPC (whose dialogue lasts lo...

Re: [Scene] Yue Ru's death

Was it ever established that someone must die? I couldn't remember the details in the drama anymore but I can say for certain what the "rule" in game was. In game: There was a door right there when you approach the tower, but you can't open that, instead you walk onto a YingYang symbol at ...

Re: I hate it

The problem with YueRu in the drama when compared to the game (and why people generally dislike the drama version) is this: If there's any way to say this without sounding misogynistic, here I go. Consider YueRu's character, being the only child and daughter of a martial art household well known in ...

Re: PAL5 - Xiao Man's relationships

夫人 doesn't always mean wife. By itself it kind of means "ma'am" or anything that applies to women that are in an age where they c/should've been a wife. Pretty much used when a woman is too old to be called 小姐 which means "little lady". But if used as a suffix to something such a...

Re: PAL5 - Xiao Man's relationships

If so then Li YiRu probably suffered the most "pathetic" fate in XJ due to the "settings" created in XJ3 and 4 (the ones made by a different team of developers, than the original.) That fate is, in XJ 1 and 2, it was a story of mortals. Having a NuWa descendant in your party you ...

Re: New Xianjian Online Game

I really really REALLY hope this doesn't turn out to be one of the abundant crappy Chinese webgame like 梦幻修仙, because really those games it's done solely made to make money, if you want to get far, or pretty much do ANYTHING you have to pay RMB to overcome the many restrictions you get as a regular ...

Re: LSF English Translation Project

Or he can post the alternative files where once you replace them in your game folder the mazes can be skipped. Last time I played (recently) I honestly kept a save file at every maze ending. JUST so I can show to my friends the story without having to have them sit through me walking the maze and ge...

Re: LSF English Translation Project

Oh right I never considered grinding monsters because I always played the game with editor. But yeah I'd think the zombie general maze HAS to be skipped for me, even though when I first played it at 10 I never once beat it because I got scared, so I downloaded a save file, beat the general then fall...

Re: LSF English Translation Project

All I'm thinking of is, the game is programmed to have different maps all pieced together. IE you walk out on this map the game will connect you to the other map and so on and so forth. So I'm thinking, instead of connecting the stair entrance into the Undead General's grave to the actual grave maze...

Re: LSF English Translation Project

How much are you guys capable of altering the game? Is it possible to simply skip the maze sections of the games? I would love have my friends who can't read Chinese to experience the story of this game, but them being whitewashed as they are I doubt they'll be able to get through the mazes without ...

Re: PAL5 returning characters [contain spoilers!]

XJ5 truly makes XJ1 the most tragic game ever, considering the story in XJ Online.
