Spur of the moment thoughts

Currently in Canada, Toronto to be mores specific on my cable TV the Cantonese channel is broadcasting the one year old TVB drama 蒲松龄(Ghost writer) which is tells the (fictional) story of the life of the author of the 聊斋 series of ghost stories involving Fox spirits and whatnot.

In the story there are two heroine (obviously) which is what starts a love triangle situation that we all know and expect. One's a human one's a fox spirit (the good kind).

Well other than the fact that all fox spirits dies in the 聊斋 books so I'm going to expect her to probably die which is sad because I really like her because of what she did for the main guy.

But what's more intriguing to me are the actresses playing each character, the fox spirit and the human lady to me I think they are surprisingly fitting for both the Ling Er and Yue Ru characters if they were to be casted for a Cantonese version.

If anyone have time I seriously recommend it, it's kind of sad (in a pathetic way) but if you saw it you'll definitely know why I say what I said.

Oh, I've seen bits and pieces of 'Ghost Writer'- the actress playing them are Fala Chen and Linda Chung. I've never really saw them that way though (as suitable for Ling'er and Yueru)

I thought they really really fit the roles.

Fala Chen (Fox spirit) was very playful as Ling Er should be since they both lived a secluded life, although in Ling Er's case she (should?) be less happy since her grandma had been murdered and things are going pretty dim for her. But Fala was pretty good in the story where she was sad because of her not being able to be happy with a human due to their difference in spirit and mortal.

But overall probably has to do with me not liking LiuYiFei's portrayal that much =/ to me she was feeling too "unnatural" in the role.

Linda Chung on the other hand I thought was great because the situation she had with the main character, I felt to be more akin to the Yue Ru/Xiao Yao relationship, she clearly likes him and gets shy whenever the main guy flirts with her but other than that she's very objective, as Yue Ru were as she was traveling with Xiao Yao.

Like mentioned in the Yue Ru thread, in the drama the two are seriously fighting over pretty much everything and I never enjoyed the pointless bickering. It's "funny" at first for when they first met, but afterwards when they clearly have an important mission they still get caught up in tiniest things. Maybe it has to do with XiaoYao in the game not talk much unless in scripted events, because in the game everything felt very "professional" Yue Ru was great being willing to follow Xiao Yao and watching out for him and not criticizing everything he does as a "perfect girlfriend" would.

I like both Linda Chung and Fala Chen, but I don't really think they will fit well in the role though. That's my opinion.
