[Scene] Naming the baby

Post by purpleGirl »

In the drama, XiaoYao and LingEr both said "YiRu" (the baby's name) at the same time, while in the DOS version, Ling Er comes up with the name:

I want..to call her YiRu

This baby, is like YueRu sacrificed her life to exchanged her life for it. I hope YueRu-sister can look over this baby as she safely grows up.

The scene is pretty similar except who named the baby ^^; I think the director tried to make it seem like Xiao Yao still misses Yue Ru- instead of only Ling Er thinking of naming the baby Yi Ru (in memory of Yue Ru).

I think the name was very symbolic, good meaning =)

Some complain that in the drama, once Yue Ru dies, Xiao Yao seems to have forgotten about Yue Ru, and always thinking of Ling Er... but if you think about it.. Xiao Yao pretty much does the same thing in the game; he doesn't really mention Yue Ru after her death, but does have a flashback part with their times together- That was equivilent to the sword fight scene in the drama.

Yi could of meant a lot of things. But that specific chinese character meant "To remember", or "Memory" depend on how the word was used in the phrase.
是缘分,是宿命,还是一场捉弄人的游戏?

In chinese, yi means loyalty... But adding in one more word... it become remember... so 'yi ru' is for 'hui yi yue ru' so also can be called yi ru.. Thats is why Xiao Yao and Ling'er daughter is called Yi Ru... :)

There is more than one Chinese character for
"Yi"

There is:
义- This can be roughly translate to loyalty since: 义气 means honor in which great friends will help each other in dire situations
忆- Means to remember since: 记忆 means memory literally.

In the show, the 忆如means 回忆月如... Means remember Yue Ru... Mostly because of her sacrifises...

What a meaningful name..but at the end, Ling Er dies as well..for XiaoYao, the baby would remind him and symbolise both of them. The baby belongs to Ling Er, but its named for Yue Ru..
