709zzy, you made a mistake. "without our permission no one comes upstairs" should be "without our permission no one come upstairs". Zero is plural.

By the way, are you sure you want to translate everything by yourself? That's a huge amount of work. I am actually thinking of organizing a team of translators to do this together... but of course, if you think you can do it alone, good for you!

well I think "no one are ..." sounds weird... but "no one is ..." does not.

maybe I'm wrong, or are there any special cases?

hmm... you are right. I haven't thought this through, "no one are" does sound weird... Please ignore the previous post then.
In general you would say "zero things" not "zero thing".

Man, I don't know why but I am constantly amazed by the language of Chinese. The feelings I get when I read a good Chinese dialogue can never be felt by me when I read something like Macbeth or The Glass Menagerie. Maybe its because I am a Chinese and it is hard for me to relate myself to people that are not Chinese? I don't know. But there are Chinese words that you can never put into English words and have them to give you the same feelings. I just feel so frustrated when I know that I can translate the words into English but they will never be able to give the original epic feelings that you get when you read them in Chinese. I want people to love Xian Jian as I have loved it since I was a kid. And I know that the experience they get will never be the same as mine. But I guess having something is still better than having nothing... I am sorry if I made myself sound like I was being racist. I was just feeling really bad that I don't have the ability to make perfect translations without losing the feelings that the original writers have intended to give out.

That's not because you are a chinese. I like their dialogues also, even chinese (and english) aren't my native-languages.
By the way - need any improvements in that translation program?

well I think sometimes that also happens to English language :)

I have also seen an unofficial Chinese translation of Final Fantasy 4 DS in which EVERYTHING sounds EXTREMELY weird, especially the names of Characters/Items/Magics/etc.

It's been a while since the last post here, just wondering how this project is coming along? Also, does this translation project have any connection to Whistler's http://sdlpal.codeplex.com/, Rich's http://english.fairysword.info/ or Xire's viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1006? Or are you all working on separate translations?

It'd be good to get an update :)

My translations are based on Xire's. It wouldn't be wise to waste time duplicating other people's work...

Glad to hear that you're still alive, Rich! :D
I keep visiting your site every week to hear of any news or updates about this project and it gives me hope to play it when I'm 64!
Just kidding, I'm sure we'll get to play a beta really soon, so I'll be waiting for news!
Cheers
Eugene

Is there a work in progress version that we can play-test?
